| Dynavector - DV-17D3 |
The Dynavector Karat 17D3 is the first cartridge manufactured using the ‘dispersion’ theory. The Micro-Ridge stylus is very short (1.7mm) solid diamond cantilever and gives a large reduction in ‘frequency dispersion’ that allows for unmatched dynamics and an extension of all the way to 100kHz. The precision designed magnet circuit design increases the output to 0.3mV for a superb imaging, warm mid-ranges and breath-taking treble frequencies – very welcome on records that demand a large frequency range to be reproduced.
The main change to happen to the Dynavector Karat 17D3 is the front yoke. The new, improved yoke delivers more focus in the magnetic circuitry, in conjunction with a flux damping mechanism, helps to result in extremely accurate sonic ranges. Overall, this technology allows for a natural sound impression as opposed to a ‘harsh’ and ‘cold’ feel that some moving coil cartridges like to produce. A gemstone cantilever is another key feature that the Karat 17D3 is happy to be wearing. This also features a 1.7mm long by 0.25mm diameter solid diamond cantilever that has 0.06 square millimetre stylus mounting hole that has been cut by a precision laser.
The armature of 0.9mm square and 0.4mm thick is much smaller than normal, upon which are wound 60 turns per channel of 12 micron fine wire. |
